When MFI Medical, a medical equipment and supplies retailer, approached me about leading their digital marketing and eCommerce efforts, I already knew what needed to be done before anything else - a complete website redesign.
At the time in 2015, MFI's online store was hosted using the Yahoo! Webstore platform (it's okay if you're not familiar with that, I wasn't at the time either). The site was the dated, to say the least. It had the look and feel of a website built in 1997, and the user experience was non-existent. Don't even get me started with the checkout...
My first suggestion was to migrate the online store and all of its 27,000 product SKUs to Shopify Plus. This was my first experience with the Shopify platform, and I was tasked with creating a product feed for those 27,000 SKUs, as well as manage the entire Shopify store build. Surprising as it may sound, everything went perfect, and there were no issues. My advanced skills with Excel made the product feed a breeze, and my first eCommerce website design turned out okay.
4 years, 2 Inc. 5000 awards, and 2 redesigns later, MFI Medical is a leader in the industry and one of the fastest growing medical companies in America. The current Shopify Plus store, which I designed and developed in 2018, was inspired by Amazon.
